Vote For Satin!

February 13, 2011

Baby blue satin. Highly reflective baby blue satin. For the Dodgers. Go vote. Now. You have until the 17th. Make yourself useful!

Speaking of which…this is how we imagine conversations in the Front Office have been going over the off-season.

Rags: “Uh, Brian? Not to jinx the boys, but we should probably find a back-up starter.”

Sabean: “What? Oh, that. Make the intern do it. We’re busy over here. Throwback uniform voting. Important stuff.”

Rags: “Of course it is…fine. Hey you! Kid! What’s your name again? No mind. Go find some sixth starter options, would you?

Intern: “A sixth stater, you say? Yes, sir. Of course, sir. I’ll get right on it, sir!”

(Intern wanders into back room. Chucks darts at Baseball Prospectus. Returns.)

Intern: “Excuse me, Mr. Sabean? I’ve done some research and I’ve determined that we should look into signing Elmer Dessens, Marc Kroon, Jeff Suppan, and Ryan Volgelsong.

Sabean: “…don’t give up now, Boch! We’ve almost got it. And baby blue satin! C’mon! Oh, uh…Vogelsong? Huh, maybe we could flip him for Jason Schmidt…oh, whatever. Just get Bowtie to sign off on Suppan or something. Now would someone figure out this TCP/IP masking!”

I’m surprised that the Dodgers didn’t schedule any of their throwback uniform days against the Giants. You’d think that they would want to play the Giants while wearing baby blue satin, because the Giants would be too busy doubled over in laughter to do anything remotely baseball related, and would have to forfeit the game. Your loss, Dodgers.

I would particularly love to see Wilson’s reaction. And Timmy’s. Oh hell, everyone’s! I mean come on, HIGHLY REFLECTIVE BABY BLUE SATIN!
